The Dining Halls

Bartlett - Bartlett has recently added a lot of new vegetarian items to the menu, including portabella mushrooms and tofu steaks at the grill station, soy cheese at the Kosher deli, a fairly large salad bar and the all-vegetarian Harvest station. The soy-milk juice boxes are expensive, however.

Pierce - Pierce has perhaps the largest number of vegetarian options, including a Chinese wok station that serves various tofu dishes, a Center Stage section that allows you to custom-make vegetarian dishes and a good selection of soy and rice milk. It also always has a vegan daily special.

Burton-Judson - Burton-Judson has an excellent salad bar and a stir-fry station that allows you to custom-make vegetarian dishes. It also has a good selection of fresh fruits and soy milk flavors. While B-J has the smallest selection of food out of the three cafeterias, there is something to be said for the Gothic ambience.

Campus Coffee Shops

Uncle Joe's - Known by some as “The Upstairs Coffee Shop,” Uncle Joe’s serves vegetarian food from The Nile and the Chicago Diner, including pasta dishes and inventive vegan sandwiches. It even has vegan scones, muffins and cookies. Uncle Joe’s is also awesome because it sells 25 cent soda pop when the Simpsons is on TV and it has pool tables.

Swift Coffee Shop - Also known as “The Div School Coffee Shop” or the place “Where God Drinks Coffee,” Swift offers plenty of vegetarian Thai dishes, veg-friendly Mediterranean food from The Nile and it’s the only coffee shop on campus to feature sandwiches and cookies made by Cousin Morris’ Vegan TreatsTM. Swift is also a good place to mingle with grad students.

Barnes and Noble - The Barnes and Noble Cafe (which looks like a Starbucks) can make most of its drinks with soy milk and sells a variety of vegan cookies.

Einstein Brothers - Einstein Brothers (in the Reynolds Club) now offers soy cheese in their sandwich options.

Maroon Market - The Maroon Market (or “Bart Mart”) has vegan donuts, soymilk, soy pizza, bean burritos and plenty of other vegetarian late night munchies.

Subway - The Subway in the Reynolds Club now offers soy cheese in their sandwich options.
